roduction Week kicked off with a series of events where reservation holders and media will be able to witness the production processes for the Lucid Air and take a deep plunge into Lucid’s exceptional EV technology with leading engineers.

Here’s what we know. Lucid rolled the first “customer-quality” Air sedan off the line Tuesday during Lucid’s “Preview Week” event at AMP-1, Lucid Motors factory in Casa Grande, Arizona. Peter Rawlinson, the CEO and CTO of Lucid Group, stated:

“I’m delighted that production cars endowed with this level of efficiency are currently driving off our factory line.”

October Is The Month

Earlier this month, lucid Motors sent out confirmations to Dream Edition reservation holders to confirm their variant, colors, and other important information. That was a significant indicator that deliveries could be coming soon. Less than three weeks later Lucid announced this:

Lucid expects reservation holders of Lucid Air Dream Edition models will begin receiving their vehicles in late October, with customer deliveries ramping up thereafter. Grand Touring, Touring, and Air Pure model deliveries are expected to follow. Lucid has thus far received more than 13,000 reservations for Lucid Air and increased the planned total production quantity of the Dream Edition to 520 vehicles.

In addition, the reservations for Lucid Air surpass 13,000. Lucid expects reservation holders of Lucid Air Dream Edition models will begin receiving their vehicles in late October, with customer deliveries ramping up thereafter. Lucid has thus far received more than 13,000 reservations for Lucid Air and increased the planned total production quantity of the Dream Edition to 520 vehicles.

On September 2nd, Daily Lucid wrote an article explaining why we could see customer deliveries in October.

We think that Lucid Motors will use the month of September to build a low volume of customer cars in the most assumed variant and trim. And at the same time, confirm orders and get any last-minute details from customers. Then before and during the production preview week, that's when Lucid Motors will really ramp up the production to get customers their cars in the early weeks of October.

Then in an updated article on September 19th, we also said:

“EPA...Check. VINs...Check. Media Week...Check. I think it would be safe to assume that we will get the official news of when Lucid Motors is planning to deliver cars to customers during the production preview week. Lucid Motors has not contacted reservation holders to confirm which variant reservation holders want Range or Performance, but this could happen in the next week, most likely during production preview week. So again I would expect the first cars to be delivered early-mid October.”
